On Legislative Day, we asked senators to support HR 4105 and pass a one - year moratorium on the roll out of RAC audits.  A hearing on this bill will be coming up in May.

The Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program is designed to be a cost-effective means of adding resources to CMS to ensure correct payments are being made to providers and suppliers and, therefore, protect the Medicare Trust Fund.  While AAHAM supports this in theory, in the demonstration project there were several issues that need to be ironed out before the program is rolled out to all the states.  We are asking Congress to support a delay in this roll out to give CMS time to fix these issues.

NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT.  Please click here, sign up to use this tool, and letters will be sent in your name to each congressman who represents you.  BUT DON'T STOP THERE!!!  Please get this out to all of your colleagues.  Each institution we represent should request the Administrators, CFOs, COOs, Vice Presidents and Presidents to sign on and send letters.

There are separate letters for House members and Senators, and you can click on them to read them before you send them.   If you have any questions, or experience any difficulty sending these letters please contact Moayad Zahralddin, moayad@aaham.org, or Sharon Galler, sharon@aaham.org, for assistance.

We have a strong chance to have another successful campaign, but we need your help to make it a success.  Please click here now.  It will only take a few minutes and yet you will accomplish so much.

Thank you for supporting AAHAM in this effort.
